Our Team

A practice is only as good as the people inside it. At ThriveAPC, every person you encounter — from your first phone call to your most complex appointment — is here because they believe that medicine, practiced with genuine attention and care, can change a life.

Mentoring the next generation of clinical talent is one of the most rewarding things we do, and we proudly partner with Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in Franklin, to staff our Medical Assistant position with students building themselves toward a career in healthcare. Each person who passes through this role leaves a mark on the practice — and, we hope, carries something of it forward as well.

Mary A Medeiros, MD, MPH

President, Founder, Physician

Dr. Medeiros built Thrive on a simple but radical premise — that a physician’s most important tool is undivided attention. She knew what medicine was supposed to be. She built a place to practice it that way.

She is a meticulous clinician, an unconventional thinker, and a fierce advocate for the patients who have been failed by a system that processes rather than understands.

Lisa Ballou

Administrator

Lisa brought over 30 years of expertise running a medical private practice to Thrive in November 2021. Her thoroughness and adaptability keep the office running with precision — but it is her professionalism and warmth that transform the patient experience, so that each person who walks through the door feels like family.

Jeff MacDonnell

Practice Manager

Jeff joined Thrive in 2026, bringing ten years of proven business management and twenty years of exceptional customer service. He enhances the patient experience by fostering a functional workflow and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere — the kind that makes a medical office feel like somewhere you actually want to be.

Kahlil Mateus

Medical Assistant

Kahlil graduated the Tri-County co-op program in 2026 with high honors, and he has exceeded every expectation from day one. Smart, kind, and exceptionally hardworking — he’s exactly the type of person this partnership exists to launch. We’re proud to play even a small role in his origin story, and we cannot wait to see where his path leads. For starters, it leads to UMass Boston starting in September 2026! We will continue to gladly welcome him for shifts when he is home and available.

We look forward to meeting you.
